My grip tends to be the weak link when I deadlift. I like being able to add extra hand work without putting more heavy pulling into my program.
I bought these because squeezing another hand gripper seemed pointless when I already own three. This trains a completely different movement and complements them really well.
I have pretty large hands and was worried it would feel awkward. It took a few minutes to get used to the position, but after that the fit felt natural.
My biggest concern was whether the resistance would actually feel challenging. It definitely does, especially once you slow down each rep instead of just rushing through them.
I already had strong forearms from lifting but they always looked kind of flat. Training the opposite side of my grip finally gave me something different to work on.
I was skeptical because it looks almost too simple. After using it consistently, I realized how weak my finger extension was compared with my squeezing strength.
My grip always gives out before my back on heavy rows. Adding these between workouts has helped me train my hands and forearms without adding another full workout.
I’ve used regular grip trainers for years, but they only worked the squeezing side of my forearms. Chimp Grip hits the opening motion and I could immediately feel muscles I normally never train.
I’ve spent years doing wrist curls and hand grippers without ever thinking about finger extension. Chimp Grip showed me there was an entire movement I basically never trained.
I like products where I can immediately understand what they’re supposed to do. Put your fingers on it, push outward, control the return, and you can feel exactly what’s being trained.
My girlfriend bought me the two-pack because she knew I was always complaining about my forearms. I expected another squeeze trainer, but this works them completely differently.
I got tired of my hands being the limiting factor during heavy pulling movements. Adding dedicated hand training gives me a way to work on the weak link outside my main workouts.
I was worried it might only be useful for beginners. Slowing the reps down and doing higher-rep sets makes it challenging enough for me even though I’ve been lifting for years.
I thought my grip was pretty good until I tried opening my fingers against resistance. That weakness was immediately obvious, so I’ve added this to my regular accessory work.
I wanted stronger hands but didn’t want to just keep buying harder squeeze grippers. Training both directions makes much more sense to me than only squeezing.
My husband has every normal grip trainer imaginable, so I wanted to get him something different. He immediately noticed that this worked his hands in the opposite direction from the tools he already owned.
I wasn’t sure whether this would be useful if I already lift four days a week. Turns out my normal lifting barely challenges finger extension compared with this.
I bought a pair because I wanted something portable for days I don’t make it to the gym. It’s small enough that there’s really no excuse not to get a few sets in.
My regular gym routine already has plenty of pulling and gripping. What it didn’t have was any direct work for opening my fingers, which is exactly where this fits.
I’m pretty impatient with fitness products and want to know whether I’m improving. Tracking how many controlled reps I can do gives me a simple way to see progress over time.
I wanted a grip accessory that didn’t require plates, cables, or a dedicated setup. I can grab this for a few sets and put it away in less time than it takes to set up most forearm exercises.
I bought this as something different from the standard squeeze trainers. The outward resistance makes it feel like I’m finally training the half of my forearms that was being ignored.
I expected it to feel flimsy because most small fitness gadgets do. It feels much more substantial in the hand than I expected, which made me more confident actually using it regularly.
My forearms always fatigue before I want them to during pulling exercises. I’ve started treating finger and hand training like any other weak point instead of just hoping my grip improves.
I’m usually terrible at sticking with small accessory exercises. Keeping this beside the TV means I can train my forearms without having to motivate myself for another workout.
I’ve used spring grippers forever and wanted something that didn’t duplicate the exact same movement. Chimp Grip fits perfectly alongside regular grip training because it works the other direction.
I like being able to count reps and track progress instead of just randomly squeezing something. I started with smaller sets and have gradually been adding more.
I bought it mainly because my forearms weren’t keeping up visually with the rest of my arms. It gives me a direct forearm exercise I can do almost anywhere.
I used to think training grip just meant squeezing harder. This made me realize I was completely ignoring the muscles responsible for opening my fingers.
My main concern was paying for another fitness gadget I wouldn’t use. Because I can literally use this from the couch, it has been much easier to make it part of my routine.
I work at a desk all day and wanted something I could use without setting aside workout time. I leave this next to my computer and knock out a few sets throughout the day.
Normal grip trainers always felt repetitive to me because I already lift heavy. This is one of the few hand trainers I’ve tried that actually targets something my lifting misses.
I wasn’t convinced a small tool could offer enough resistance. After a few controlled sets my extensors were definitely working harder than I expected.
I do BJJ and my hands get a ton of squeezing work from gripping. Chimp Grip lets me work the opposite direction without needing weights or another machine.
